There's one form of birth control that's actually subsidized at least in the Helsinki region. That's the hormone coil/spiral (hormonikierukka for those who, like me, have no idea what it is in english). But only for first timers who have had kids. But anyway, that's five years of free birth control. Not bad if you can live with the nasty side effects.
